The designer’s Cygne Noir, or Black Swan, dress in ebony satin and velvet, which features panels of silk to create the appearance of a gigantic bow at the hips; strapless asymmetric “Gruau” gowns named after Dior illustrator René Gruau; and the heavily draped Pisanelle cocktail dress, which nodded to the silhouettes found in the .Bianchini-Férier. The V&A has 486 works related to Bianchini-Férier. Made between 1915 and 1969, these objects form part of the Prints, Drawings & Paintings Collection and Textiles and Fashion Collection.
