Finding such an original black waffle dial in a 1950s Omega Constellation is a significant challenge, especially for the earliest Constellation model, reference 2648. As we know, the black dial during that period needed to be requested specifically. It would help if you could provide some guidance as to what you’d like to do with the watch (sell, wear, keep etc.) The answer partly depends on whether you paid for it (or inherited it) and what you’d like to do next. A service of the movement is recommended if you plan on wearing it often.

I've contacted the Omega Museum and cost of an extract is 120 francs. What they have said is they cannot tell me how many watches were produced with the same dial / baton configuration. in solid yellow gold, sweep second hand no date waffle dial 3;6;9 and arrow hour markers. DIAL: An original waffle or honeycomb dial. The dial is in great shape. There is one small stain on the dial noted between the one and two o'clock hour markers. The dial features applied, rose gold hour & minute markers with matching dauphine hands. MOVEMENT: Omega automatic bumper caliber. Service history is unknown. It was Omega seamaster ref.2849-1 with uncommon waffle dial, serial no. 14,894,xxx (around 1954-55) and powered by caliber 503. In my opinion, - The dial was original with beautiful and uncommon waffle pattern. - The font of “OMEGA , AUTOMATIC, Seamaster, Calendar” was correct and original.
