I just like my seconds to be accurate! I swap watches often so I am often setting the time, and as my p9010 is very accurate it tends to stay within a second or two during the 2/3 day wear. The P.9010 offers a jumping hour hand which does not stop the movement when being adjusted, making travel between time zones easy with no interruption to the accuracy of your setting. It should be noted that the jumping hour adds considerable complication to the movement when compared to standard time-date movements.

I sent my 2019 979 with P.9010 mvmt in for service last week due to some erratic behavior - stopping for no reason, and what had been excellent accuracy suddenly off as well. I received a letter from Panerai within 1 day apologizing and stating that they will do a full service at no cost and get this back to spec. I question the author's intentions when he makes such wild claims that Panerai is actually a hoax company that was simply Rolex and that the CEO purposefully is promoting fake watches. Those claims are obviously ridiculous.
The balance, fixed by a bridge with twin supports, oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). It is associated with the device which stops it as soon as the winding crown is pulled out, enabling the watch to be perfectly synchronised with a reference signal. The one Panerai I owned had very terrible accuracy and ran more like a 0 watch than a true high end watch should.
